Responsibilities

Job Description:

As a Cloud Application Developer, you will design, develop, and maintain cloud-based applications tailored to meet organizational needs. This role requires proficiency in cloud platforms, programming languages, and a strong understanding of cloud architecture best practices. The ideal candidate will have experience in developing scalable, secure, and high-performance applications in cloud environments. This position is on-site at Ft. Belvoir.

Design, develop, test, and deploy cloud-based applications in alignment with project requirements.

Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code using programming languages such as Java, Python, or C#.

Utilize cloud development tools and technologies to create effective cloud solutions.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including system engineers and software architects, to ensure consistent application development.

Integrate cloud-based applications with other systems, both cloud-based and on-premises.

Ensure application performance, uptime, and scalability while maintaining high standards of code quality and thoughtful design.

Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.

Identify, troubleshoot, and debug functional and performance issues.

Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure applications remain current.

Provide technical support and training to users for the cloud applications developed.

Qualifications

Required Skills & Experience:

Proven experience as a Cloud Application Developer.

Proficiency in multiple front-end languages and libraries (e.g., HTML/CSS, JavaScript, XML, jQuery).

Experience with cloud services such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.

Familiarity with databases (e.g., MySQL, MongoDB), web servers (e.g., Apache), and UI/UX design.

Knowledge of multiple back-end languages (e.g., Java, Python, C#) and JavaScript frameworks (e.g., Angular, React, Node.js).

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Great attention to detail and a problem-solving mindset.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Desired Skills

Experience with serverless architectures and microservices.

Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

Understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.

Knowledge of cloud security best practices and compliance standards.
