Job Description :
The cloud specialist position will focus on all aspects of design, analysis, implementation and support of systems, software or other solutions pertaining to deploying capabilities to cloud systems. The candidate will work within a team of software and IT engineers to build high performance, cloud-based visualization and dissemination services based on high fidelity geospatial data sources.
Job Duties Include (but not limited to) :
- Support the development of open architectures and applications, infrastructure, and cloud platforms to ensure they are best suited for Cloud deployment and consumption
- Support the adoption of Cloud best practices and supporting technologies to enable such capabilities as DevOps, Big Data / Analytics, AI, Micro-Services
- Support the architecture, design, develop, troubleshoot, and implementation of corporate cloud solutions
- Work closely with the Information Technology Security team to ensure the applications and solutions designed and deployed are secure and compliant
- Effectively interface with customer personnel at varying organizational levels
- Must be self-motivated and expected to work independently with minimal supervision
- Report status on tasks and assignments
- Must be able to generate preliminary and detailed designs as required for enhancements or modifications to existing designs, requiring the application of current industry design concepts and utilization of basic technical writing skills
Qualifications
Required Skills & Experience :
5 years of hands-on experience in a specific technology practice (Infrastructure, Network, Storage, Servers, Security, Windows, Linux, etc.) for both on premise and cloud resources2 years network and operating system experience2 years’ experience in cloud container management technologies like Kubernetes or OpenshiftArchitect and deploy AWS infrastructure solutions, leveraging services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and IAM to meet scalability, performance, and security requirements.Lead the design and implementation of AWS cloud-native applications, adhering to AWS best practices and ensuring high availability and fault tolerance.Provide expertise in AWS technologies, guiding the team in designing, deploying, and managing cloud environments, optimizing costs, and improving operational efficiency.Experience scaling and deploying applications to the AWS cloudExperience using and deploying RDMS, NoSQL, or Graph databasesExperience managing / implementing server / clients with Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) Platforms and Federation Services (NetIQ, ADFS, Azure MFA, Keycloak, Redhat SSO, Duo, SAML, etc.)Experience using a source code repository such as BitBucket, Mercurial, GIT, or SubversionExperience using a defect management system such as Bugzilla, JIRA, or FogbugzExcellent written and verbal communication skillsMust have well refined troubleshooting skills, ability to determine the root cause of a problem and identify and resolve systemic problems.Ability to perform technical briefings to various groups and engineersAbility to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.Experience with Agile development methodologiesDue to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.Desired Skills :
