Iron Oak Energy is looking for a dynamic Laborer who will have a positive impact on the Operations team at its Crane, TX location. The Laborer is accountable to ensure the safe and productive operation of the drying and screening process equipment including conveyors, bucket elevators, mineral separators, screens, fans, and dryers to transfer sand through the plant to product silos while ensuring the products are within specification. This position is on a 1 week on/1 week off rotation.
Key Accountabilities:
Safety
- Comply with applicable MSHA regulations as outlined in the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) and procedures applying to the worker or person that are part of a safety and health management system for the mine
- If the worker has information that other persons need to know to fulfil their obligations or duties under the CFR, or to protect themselves from the risk of injury or illness, to give the information to the other persons
- Take any other reasonable and necessary course of action to ensure anyone is not exposed to an unacceptable level of risk
- Work or carry out the worker’s activities in a way that does not expose the worker or someone else to an unacceptable level of risk
- Ensure, to the extent of the responsibilities and duties allocated to the worker or person, that the work and activities under the worker’s control, supervision, or leadership is conducted in a way that does not expose the worker or person or someone else to an unacceptable level of risk
- Comply with instructions given for safety and health of persons by the mine operator or a supervisor at the operation
- Work at the operation only if the worker is in a fit condition to carry out the work without affecting the safety and health of others
- Not do anything willfully or recklessly that might adversely affect the safety and health of someone else at the operation
General
- Adhere to site procedures and instructions given by supervisors
- Operate equipment in a safe manner which is efficient and reduces damage, downtime, and quality issues
- Complete required paperwork in an orderly, accurate, and professional fashion
- Assist with any continuous improvement projects as necessary
- Perform all other duties as needed or assigned
Operations
- Perform pre-shift and routine equipment and area inspections; maintain safe work environments in the wet process, screen house, or resin plant
- Perform systematic startup of blowers, wastewater system, screens, conveyors, dryers and elevators
- Inspect equipment to ensure operating safely within parameters
- Ensure sand flows through screens to product bins
- Collect and process samples, record results and change operating parameters as required
- Maintain communications with Wet Plant, Loadout, Loader Operators, and Management
- Maintain housekeeping in wet process, screen house, or resin plant.
- Ignite burners, startup feeders for dryers
- Ensure sand is dried properly through dryers via gauges and visual inspection
- Obtain, run, and record moisture samples as required
- Communicate with Front End Loader Operator to identify potential feed issues to dryers: high moisture content; rocks; blockages; conveyor problems; etc.
- Ensure wet process, screen house, & or resin plant equipment is properly shut down at end of shift if required, area is inspected, and any problems are reported to management.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Literacy in English, both written and spoken
- Demonstrated experience contributing within a team of professionals to deliver against set targets
- Demonstrated commitment to safety with previous experience in identifying and managing risks
- Ability to operate computer programs
- Technical training in pumps, computer systems, conveyors, or similar
