What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Project Manager, Construction position at IRON SWORD?
IRON SWORD is an established, veteran-owned general contractor / construction manager based in New York's Hudson Valley.
This fulltime opportunity is ideal for an entry level or early career professional who is passionate about construction and has some demonstrated experience and expertise with commercial construction.
Assistant project managers ideally have up to five years of relevant construction and / or project management experience and must bring strong computer and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities and Duties
Manage and maintain document control and construction administrative processes on project FTP sites with internal and external parties (ex. architect) including but not limited to: change management, closeout documents, daily reports, punch list, RFIs, safety, submittals, transmittals, meeting agendas / minutes, as-builts.
Interpret construction specifications and drawings and review to confirm they are correct and coordinate with each other.
Identify critical path items and ensure materials are delivered on time.
Provide billing, cost management, and scheduling support to assigned projects as needed.
Provide technical support to field managers including setting up conference calls.
Maintain open communication with field staff to quickly distribute or respond to information with the entire project team.
Assist with other ad hoc duties as they arise.
Qualifications and Skills
Minimum Qualifications
One year of experience in the construction/engineering field
Bachelor’s degree
Highly proficient in use of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
Ability to clearly and professionally communicate
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with all divisions of work for either new construction or renovation projects
Three to five years of experience in the construction field as a project engineer or asst. project manager
Degree in Architecture, Engineering or Construction Management
OSHA 30-hour training certificate
US Army Corps of Engineers' CQCM training certificate
Experience with public contracts preferred but not required (Federal, State, Municipal).
Experience with healthcare / laboratory contracts preferred but not required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
