Position Overview
As the Branch Manager for Waste Hauling, you will be responsible for the full operational, financial, and personnel management of your branch. This role requires a strong leader with deep knowledge of waste hauling, who can drive revenue, ensure compliance, and build high-performing teams that deliver outstanding service to our customers.
You’ll be expected to lead by example, instill a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence, and partner across departments to achieve business objectives. This is a critical leadership role for someone ready to take ownership of branch growth and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead branch operations focused on revenue growth to ensure efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
- Manage branch P&L and develop strategic plans to meet financial targets and operational KPIs.
- Oversee all aspects of transportation, including dispatch, driver performance, DOT compliance, and equipment utilization.
- Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing team of drivers, dispatchers, mechanics, and administrative staff.
- Ensure adherence to company safety standards and regulatory compliance (OSHA, DOT, state/local laws).
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships to drive repeat business and service excellence.
- Collaborate with functional teams (Finance, Safety, HR, Compliance) to resolve issues and implement solutions.
- Monitor and analyze key metrics related to route efficiency, driver productivity, equipment ROI, and service delivery.
- Promote a proactive, service-driven culture with a commitment to continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of operations or transportation management experience, with direct oversight of P&L and team leadership.
- Proven track record in waste services, environmental solutions, waste hauling, or a related field.
- Strong leadership skills in coaching, performance management, and employee development.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience in military or waste hauling operations considered.
- In-depth understanding of DOT regulations, equipment dispatch, and driver compliance programs.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel); experience with logistics or fleet management software is a plus.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver's license required.
