What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Event Coordinator - Part Time position at Irons Mill Farmstead Weddings?
Timeframe: May-December 2025, training in April
Commitment: 6-7 hours per event, 2-5 events per month (weekends)
Typical Shift: 10a-6p, 2p-8p, OR 5p-11p
Responsibilities
This position will be in charge of the venue onsite for wedding days. This includes...
- Vendor Load In - answer any vendor questions on setup, location, table/linen needs, wifi password, etc.
- Venue Setup - ensure all venue related decor is in the correct location for start time of event i.e. outdoor chandelier draping, umbrellas up, easels/small antique tables in correct locations. Position is also in charge of leading setup and strike of indoor chairs in case of a backup rain plan situation.
- Restroom management - make sure restrooms are properly stocked throughout evening.
- Golf Cart - in charge of escorting elderly/handicap guests via golf cart from bottom to top of barn
- Event Teardown and Flip – This position will be responsible for leading the catering staff in event teardown and flipping the space for the next day’s event (if applicable).
Qualifications
- Applicant must speak, dress and interact with others in a professional and cheerful manner.
- Applicant must have good people skills and enjoy interacting with the public.
- Applicant must have good problem solving skills and the ability to creatively troubleshoot unique situations.
- Applicant must be detail oriented.
- Applicant must be flexible and willing to work weekend events.
- Past experience in a service position or events/weddings is preferred but not required.
- Age 21 or older is preferred but not required.
