A small community hospital located just outside Sparta, Wisconsin is seeking a full-time, permanent Medical Coder to join their team! This is an onsite position.
The Medical Coder Job Opportunity:
- Full-time, direct hire opportunity
- Mon - Fri schedule, day shift, 8am-4:30pm

- Responsibilities for this role include coding diagnoses (ICD-10) and procedures (CPT-4) for clinic encounters and hospital visits. The coder will ensure accurate and timely coding while meeting deadlines and complying with rural health billing guidelines. Additional tasks involve entering diagnoses and clinic charges as needed, assisting billing specialists in claims review, and reviewing charts for medical necessity.

The Medical Coder Minimum Qualifications:
- Registered Health Information Technician or Coding certification strongly preferred (CPC, CCS, RHIT, or RHIA)
- ICD-10 training preferred
- Minimum 1 year experience in coding strongly preferred
- Proficiency in computer usage is essential
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Needs good analytical skills. Must be able to utilize time effectively
