Sonographer / Ultrasound Technologist
- Under the direction of the department manager, the Sonographer / Ultrasound Technologist shall perform interpretive diagnostic studies as ordered by the referring physician / provider.
- Sonographer / Ultrasound Tech shall exhibit quality patient care and utilize patient and staff safety measures when choosing technical factors to insure proper sonographic diagnosis of patients.
- Works under the direct supervision of the Radiology Manager or designated administrator.
Essential Functions of Sonographer / Ultrasound Technologist :
Provides safe and appropriate patient care while performing diagnostic studies ordered by the patient s physician / providerAssists Radiologist with full patient history and proper tools for examsCompletes all exams fully including paperwork and billing proceduresConfirms and compares correct patient exam information to minimize discrepanciesMaintains clean, organized, and properly stocked exam roomsCaptures clear diagnostic images by using proper equipment, techniques, and positionsRelies on extensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and effects of disease processes to properly and safely position the patient for maximum diagnostic yieldUtilizes knowledge of all safety measures for protection of patients and staff while administering ultrasoundPerforms in other modalities as certifiedSonographer / Ultrasound Technologist Qualifications :
Education and / or Experience :
Associate degree from accredited school of Sonography or certificate from accredited technical school of Sonography or RadiographyOne (1) year of ultrasound experienceCertificates, Licenses, Registrations :
Current ARDMS certification in physics and abdomen or ARRT certified in ultrasound required.ARDMS or ARRT certification in the following is preferred : vascular, echo, OB / GYN, and breast imagingNecessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
Knowledge of HIPAA privacy requirements and medical terminologyEstablish and maintain solid working relationships through communication, cooperation, and positive interactions with all patients / clients, employees, staff, providers, and vendorsWillingness to work a flexible schedule when circumstances necessitateDemonstrated ability to self-motivate and work independently with limited supervisionSupports and maintains a culture of safety, quality and positive patient experienceSoutheast Arizona Location
