Job Title: Biller
Department: Business Office
Status: Full Time, 40 hours per week
Schedule: 7am-4:30pm
Summary/Objective
The Billing Clerk is responsible for answering patient/clinic calls, inpatient, outpatient and non-patient claims billing to third party payers, collections and billing follow-up.
Essential Functions

- Answers incoming calls from patients, clinics and hospital departments.
- Assist patients/employers with answering questions regarding their bill.
- Answers billing questions for each ancillary department of the hospital.
- Works the billing workques to ensure timely filing of claims
- Sends provider queries/Athena Text to ancillary departments regarding billing questions to process claims
- Works closely with ancillary departments, HIM to ensure patient encounters are being processed timely.
- Work Holds/Manager Holds to complete the claim billing process.
- Work Legacy AR system
- Run Insurance Eligibility
- Process Payments in person or on the phone from patients.
Education/Experience Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred, plus one year of office/clerical support or experience working with customers. 1-3 years experience in claims processing, business or accounting experience in the healthcare field is desirable.

Iroquois Memorial Hospital is a 25 bed hospital located in Watseka, Illinois. The hospital facility is comprised of clinical and diagnostic services which are dedicated to providing high quality health care services to the community. These services include but are not limited to an Emergency Room, full service OR suites, an inpatient care unit, therapy services, advanced medical imaging, Home Health, and Hospice Care. The hospital operates rural health clinics in Watseka, IL, Gilman, IL, Milford, IL, Saint Anne, IL and Kentland, IN. The hospital also operates a skilled nursing facility, Iroquois Resident Home, which is attached to the hospital property.
