Job Title: EMT-Basic/Patient Care Tech.
Department: Progressive Care Unit
Status: Full Time/Part Time/PRN Available
Schedule: Days and Nights Available
Summary/Objective
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function as well as the ability to meet the values based competencies, core behavioral competencies, and performance outcomes required for this position.
Essential Functions

PCT
- Communicates with peers, other health team members, patients and visitors.
- Adaptable and flexible. Ability to perform multiple tasks and self-start with minimal direction from nursing staff.
- Utilizes AIDET
- Resolves problems and adapts easily to change.
- Maintains positive working relationships and avoids negativity.
- Utilizes down time productively or in a way that benefits the patient. Avoids waste; utilizes equipment and supplies effectively.
- Uses computer for only purposes as assigned.
- Maintains the current medical record and database.
- Maintains up to date manuals/books.
- Performs clerical duties and operates various office equipment.
- Participates in drills (fire, disaster, code 12, etc.).
- Reports patients, visitors, employee incidents.
- Demonstrates an awareness of security issues.
EMT-B
- Provider of age specific (all age groups) pre-hospital care at the basic level, assisting paramedic partner.
- Operations of ambulance and assistance with all equipment;
- Light housekeeping at the stations.
- Liaison between patient/significant other and hospital staff.
- Follow the Policy/Procedures of the Ambulance Department.
- Other duties assigned by Director or Team Leader.
Experience/Education Requirements
- Graduate of basic EMT program. Must be at least 21 years of age and have 5 years of driving experience with a clean MVR. Experience in emergency driving situations desired.
Licenses/Certifications
- Valid and current Illinois driver's license.
- Illinois State Certified EMT-Basic license.
- BLS Healthcare Provider CPR card.
- ACLS, PALS, ITLS certification within 1 year of hire date.
- Complies with continuing education requirements as set forth by the EMS system and the State of Illinois.
- Meet and maintain physical ability to perform EMS/Rescue operations.

Iroquois Memorial Hospital is a 25 bed hospital located in Watseka, Illinois. The hospital facility is comprised of clinical and diagnostic services which are dedicated to providing high quality health care services to the community. These services include but are not limited to an Emergency Room, full service OR suites, an inpatient care unit, therapy services, advanced medical imaging, Home Health, and Hospice Care. The hospital operates rural health clinics in Watseka, IL, Gilman, IL, Milford, IL, Saint Anne, IL and Kentland, IN. The hospital also operates a skilled nursing facility, Iroquois Resident Home, which is attached to the hospital property.
