What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN Staff Development Educator position at Iroquois Skilled Nursing Community?
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position will provide ongoing educational opportunities to staff and contractors with the objective of improving job skills, meeting guidelines by the NYS DOH, the facility and facilitate other needed or required educational requirements
o Coordinates the orientation of all new staff members to the facility, and completion of mandatories.
o Facilitate and coordinate annual mandatory in-services for all employees. Track and follow up with employee for completion.
o Develops, coordinates, facilitate, teach, and documents seminars, workshops and in-house in-service programs to meet the needs of the facility.
o Performs nursing competencies with the employee on nursing units as necessary, or for orientation.
o Identifies needed area of improvement in nursing practices and works with the Quality Assurance Director, Director of Nursing, Nurse Managers and RN Clinical Managers to develop a training protocol and facilitates the process.
Reviews all staff Accident/Incident reports, and sees staff post-accident for follow-up. Notifies HR Director of any new Work Related Medical notes.
o Will work with HR to coordinate and facilitate employee Restricted Duty Program.
o Will assist the HR department with MLOA requests
