What are the responsibilities and job description for the Social Worker (Elementary & Middle School) position at Iroquois West Community Unit School?
This position requires a qualified candidate with a Master's degree in social work. Along with this, the candidate must have passed the certification test to work in schools.
For this position, the candidate will be required to create both a plan and a schedule to counsel students who have been given minutes. Along with this, the candidate must be able to work and collaborate on the program called Embrace. Embrace is the program that we use to store and track information on students with 504's.
In unison with this, the candidate will also plan, schedule and monitor all student 504's in both the middle school and upper elementary buildings.
The current schedule for the social worker would be as follows : Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at the middle school in Onarga. Tuesdays and Thursdays the social worker will be in the Upper Elementary School in Thawville. The candidate will also be paid milage. With this current schedule, this could also mean that if a situation would arise in a particular building, the social worker would need to go to that building and help with the situation.
