Our school is seeking a dynamic and motiviated High School Social Science Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for teaching Civics, Sociology, Psychology, History of American Originals, and preparing students for the Constitution Test for graduation requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Teach students about the principles of Civics, Sociology, Psychology, and History of American Originals.
- Prepare students for the Constitution Test, a graduation requirement for high school students.
- Create engaging lesson plans and utilize a variety of instructional strategies to facilitate student learning.
- Assess student progress and provide timely feedback to students and parents.
- Develop and maintain a positive and respectful classroom environment that fosters student learning and growth.
- Collaborate with other teachers, staff, and administrators to create a cohesive learning community.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in Social Science education and integrate them into the classroom.
- Participate in school events and activities, including meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Social Science or related field, with a valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL).
- Knowledge of current educational best practices, teaching methodologies, and assessment strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for teaching and a strong commitment to student success.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
