Job Description: Irrigation Technician I
Experience: One to two years of experience preferred. Starting pay depends on experience. Must have a Texas Irrigation Technician or Irrigator license. Please do not apply for this position unless you are licensed. Unlicensed persons may apply for the Assistant Technician (Entry Level Trainee) position.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Other technical/mechanical training helpful.
Skills Tests: Please answer all questions and complete all the skills tests if you wish to be considered.
Other requirements: Good math, verbal and written communication skills. Problem-solving skills. Able to safely use basic hand tools. Able to perform physical labor outdoors. Able to work alone for long periods without help. Able to exercise good judgment. Good driving record.
Duties:
- Check and maintain lawn sprinkler systems.
- Install drip irrigation systems.
- Perform basic repairs.
- Move, cap off, and add sprinkler heads.
- Be able to operate and program common irrigation controllers.
- Communicate effectively with customers and provide excellent customer service.
- Mark proposed excavations and request location of buried utilities.
- Safely drive service vehicles
- Other duties as assigned.
