Sr. Systems Administrator, VMware (Onsite)
We have an immediate need for a contract-to-hire Sr. Systems Administrator, VMware to join our municipal client. The Sr. Systems Administrator is responsible for performance tuning, infrastructure expansion, storage management, supporting the organization’s cloud computing environment, and user access control.
Location : McKinney, TX (Onsite)
This job expects to pay about $41 - 43 per hour plus benefits.
What You Will Do :
- Administers the Client’s enterprise backup, Active Directory, and Exchange environments.
- Assists in the administration of Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) and other Systems Center products.
- Administers the Client’s virtual systems and applications.
- Improves, supports, and configures hardware and software to support the organization’s environments and solutions.
- Fine tunes systems, storage, and processes to be the most effective and efficient based on industry standards (e.g. NIST).
- Administers and performs routine maintenance on Windows and Linux servers.
- Configure and deploy servers in the AWS cloud environment to include cloud storage.
- Administers and performs routine maintenance on AWS cloud environment.
- Troubleshoots and resolves server hardware and software issues.
- Documents and logs all troubleshooting and administration related activity in the departmental ticketing system.
- Maintains inventory of all enterprise server hardware, software, and maintenance agreements.
- Documents administrative procedures and configurations for all hardware and software systems in assigned area of responsibility.
- Understands, implements, and maintains information assurance security policies, guidelines, procedures, and remediation / mitigation practices server systems.
- Suggests and maintains departmental standards, procedures, and documentation.
- Routinely maintains access control to IT systems and data.
- Review and update necessary IT systems security of all environments to ensure compliance with NIST, CJIS, TxDIR, and others to ensure data protection.
- Configure, monitor, and analyze system monitoring tools such as Control Up and SolarWinds.
- Maintains up to date job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
- Complies with all client and department policies and procedures.
