What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Tech V - Welder - 40 Hours/Week (Outside Candidates) position at Irvine Unified School District?
DEFINITION: Under the supervision of an assigned supervisor, performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled welding and general maintenance tasks in connection with the maintenance, repair and improvement to buildings and equipment. Applies specialized knowledge and experience to design, fabricate and accomplish metalwork projects; installs and repairs of chain link and rod iron fencing; inspects and repairs playground and athletic equipment.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school supplemented by completion of an approved apprenticeship program in the building maintenance trade area and four years increasingly responsible journey-level welding experience.
LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: • Valid California Class C driver’s license.
