  • Valid MO Teaching Certification at appropriate grade level,
  • Valid MO School Counselor Certification, or be a Licensed Social Worker.
  • Registered Behavior Technician Certification preferred

This is a skilled position that requires background and/or training in the development and implementation of social and emotional supports for students and staff in multiple settings. The successful candidate will have a proven record of successful child care abilities that include a loving and consistent demeanor. The ability to establish and maintain relationships with children that have disruptive behaviors is a must.

Essential Functions:  

  • Work with Tier 1 and Tier 2 PBIS teams to implement positive behavior support systems building wide to increase academic growth in communication arts and math. 
  • Work with teachers on developing behavior and academic intervention plans through the problem-solving team process (PST), and assist in the implementation of those plans.  The result of successful plan implementation will result in an increase of learning in the areas of communication arts and math.  
  • Collect behavioral data on students that is impeding student learning in communication arts and math so that successful academic interventions can be implemented.  
  • Work with teachers in monitoring and collecting data of academic growth in communication arts and math as impacted by successful behavior intervention plans.
  • Work with classified and certified staff on developing a variety of classroom management, and behavior management strategies that will have an impact on the academic growth of students in the areas of communication arts and math. 
  • Work with students in small group and one on one settings to develop behavioral skills that will increase the academic growth in the area of communication arts and math. 
  • Work with the community and parents on behavioral strategies that will increase the academic performance of students in the area of communication arts and math.  This includes working with parents a on strategies they can use with their kids to increase their learning in communication arts and math. 

 

Physical Demands

  • Occasionally lift 100 pounds
  • Frequently walk up and down stairs while assisting students
  • Frequently walk on a variety of ground surfaces, including, but not limited to, paved, gravel, grass, or dirt
  • Frequently bend and twist the torso and neck
  • Frequently squat or kneel to the ground
  • Frequently use repetitive arm, wrist and hand movements
  • Use close, distance and peripheral vision as well as depth perception
