What are the responsibilities and job description for the Heating Service Technician position at Irving Oil Limited?
As a Heating Service Technician, you will be responsible for the day-to-day servicing of our customers. Your goal will be to troubleshoot and perform diagnostic activities regarding service equipment within our established policies and procedures.

Your Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot oil and propane-fired boilers, furnaces, water heaters, and oil tanks
- Troubleshoot and resolve problems by reviewing diagnostics and using proper tools to complete repairs
- Provide final inspections of systems and ensure all equipment is operating safely
- Complete appropriate daily paperwork for each service call
- Maintain daily and yearly inventory
- Ensure the service truck is in good working order and safe
- Perform other duties as required to maintain and enhance departmental productivity
- Rotational on call evenings and weekends
Your Skills:
- Mechanical aptitude
- Ability to work well with others; good organization and communication skills; attention to detail and strong customer service.
- Frequent driving, climbing in and out of vehicle and working in confined spaces. Some heavy lifting.
- Ability to install various types of heating equipment.
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment and progress though the daily workload efficiently.
- Strong decision-making skills
Your Experience:
- Propane or natural gas license. Nora Certification is an asset
- Knowledge of wiring and plumbing required
