Position Description
With excellent attention to detail and a high level of customer service, the Accounting & Payroll Specialist provides daily administrative support to the GCC Finance team. The position's main responsibility is the timely entry of all receivables and related items. As well as processing bi-weekly payroll while being a first contact for payroll-related inquiries.
Requirements
Qualifications
· High School Diploma or equivalent required. Completion of post high school accounting coursework preferred.
· At least 1 year of experience in bookkeeping and/or accounting processes is strongly preferred.
· At least 2 years of related professional experience in a clerical role with preference given to those with an understanding of fundraising/ development.
· Efficient and accurate data entry skill, the ability to work cohesively with other staff.
· Attention to detail and accuracy while maintaining minimum speed requirements.
· Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft environment. Must include Excel and demonstrated skills in database management and record keeping.
· Ability to interact, coordinate and communicate effectively with internal staff and vendors.
· Ability to adapt to change and work on assignments with limited instruction from leadership.
· Strong, demonstrated organizational and time-management skills
· Ability to maintain confidentiality.
· Ability to prioritize multiple projects and to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities
· Support accounts receivable processes.
· Daily recording of invoices and cash receipts.
· Daily enter, process and acknowledge gifts, grants, special event and program sponsorships, event tickets, auction donations and purchases, and in-kind donations, etc.
· Support in tracking outstanding pledges, grants and recurring gifts.
· Record and update donor information.
· Process bi-weekly payroll tasks while being a first contact for payroll-related inquiries.
· Provide requested reports including outcome reports for appeals, donor engagement and stewardship efforts.
· Assist in responding to staff, vendor and other customer inquiries.
· Assist in extracting data for financial reports.
· Assist in accounts payable processes.
· Assist in Cash reconciliation.
· Assist in administering and maintaining credit cards using Concur system.
· Assist in the monthly closing process by gathering all necessary data and posting required journal entries.
· Provide general administrative and clerical support including mailing, filing, scanning, and copying.
