Job Title: Childcare Summer Program Assistant
Department: Childcare
Reports To: Childcare Manager
Position Type: Hourly, Monday-Friday, 20-40 hours/week. Program hours are 8:00am-5:30pm
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Salary: $22/hour.
Benefits: Not Eligible
Program Runs: June -- August 14. Should have availability to be a part of summer planning during the week of June 16.

Position Description
The Goodman Community Center is seeking to hire teachers for our elementary summer camp program. Summer camp at the Goodman Community Center is a place for children from all backgrounds to play, socialize, learn and grow. Goodman's state licensed; City of Madison accredited elementary summer camp program provides an enriching environment for children 5-12 years of age. Children will have the opportunity to participate in hands-on learning designed to build proficiency in reading, math, and science in fun, hands-on ways! Each week will also offer a theme with staff-led enrichment options, swimming lessons, arts/crafts, recreational games, visits to favorite community locations and more.
Requirements
- 18 years of age or older.
- Graduation from high school.
- Must have experience with program age children and coursework in Early Childhood Education.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the overall supervision of all children enrolled in the program.
- Carry out daily activities, ensure the safety and physical well-being of the children.
- Maintain daily communication with parents.
- Work within the childcare team to provide a high-quality summer camp experience.
Preferences
- Familiarity with State of WI Child Care Licensing Rules and Regulations and City of Madison Accreditation Guidelines.
- Experience working with staff and families from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
- Multi-lingual
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and willingness to drive a 15-passenger van with children as passengers.
