What are the responsibilities and job description for the Radiologic Technologist position at IRWIN COUNTY HOSPITAL?
POSITION DESCRIPTION: Responsible for performing radiographic procedures using imaging modalities applying prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnostic procedures in the hospital and long term care facilities, on patients of all ages (neonate, infant, toddler, child, adolescent, young adult, adult, geriatric). Operates radiographic equipment, develops film, applies principals of radiation safety for patients, general public and self, evaluates radiographs for technical quality. Exercises professional judgment in the performance of procedures. Recognizes patient conditions requiring immediate action and initiates life support measures. Aids in the orientation and education of radiology department and hospital staff. Participates in performance improvement activities to assure highest standards of care.
MINIMAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Graduate of accredited Radiologic Technology program. (Or senior radiologic technology student)
License: American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT). Registry eligible or senior radiologic technology student preparing to take the registry exam.
Experience: Radiologic technology clinical training.
