Job Title: Consumer Insights Analyst
Position Overview: The Consumer Insights Analyst will support the Marketing and Design teams by conducting research and analysis to inform and enhance the development of new products and go to market strategies. This role involves gathering and interpreting data on market trends, consumer preferences, materials, sales insights and manufacturing processes to drive design innovation and go to market strategies that ensure our products meet both aesthetic, functional, and sales goals.
Responsibilities
Consumer Insights
- Organize and lead internal and external feedback gathering through surveys, focus groups, prototype analysis and other methods of insight aggregation.
- Analyze feedback from customers, focus groups, and surveys to understand preferences and requirements.
- Work closely with marketing and sales teams to translate consumer insights into design criteria.
Market Research
- Conduct comprehensive research on industry trends, competitive products, and consumer behavior to provide actionable insights for product development.
- Analyze market data to identify emerging trends and opportunities for new product designs.
- Prepare and present findings to a variety of audiences, including senior leadership
Material and Technology Research
- Investigate new materials, technologies, and manufacturing processes that could enhance product performance and sustainability.
- Evaluate the feasibility of integrating new materials and technologies into existing product lines in partnership with Design and Engineering team members
Design Support
- Assist the design team in developing product concepts by providing data-driven recommendations and analysis.
- Support the creation of design briefs and specifications based on research findings.
Competitor Analysis
- Monitor and analyze competitor products and strategies to identify strengths, weaknesses, and market gaps.
- Prepare reports and presentations on competitive landscape and potential areas for differentiation.
Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain detailed records of research findings, methodologies, and sources.
- Prepare and present research reports and recommendations to the product design team and other stakeholders.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, engineering, marketing, and manufacturing, to ensure alignment and integration of research insights into product development.
- Participate in design reviews and brainstorming sessions to contribute to the creative process.
Managing External Partnerships:
- Sourcing and managing external partnerships to gather customer feedback and gain insights
Qualifications
- Experience: 3 years of experience in consumer insights/market research, preferably within a product design or manufacturing context.
- Strong analytical and research skills with the ability to interpret complex data and trends.
- Proficiency in research tools and methodologies, including quantitative and qualitative analysis.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly and persuasively.
- Familiarity with furniture design principles and materials is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and research software/tools.

- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to overcoming challenges.
