Job Title: Focused Factory Manager 2
Position Overview
The Focused Factory Manager 2 is responsible for overseeing complex manufacturing operations, driving strategic improvements, and leading large-scale teams to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives. This role requires a high level of expertise in lean manufacturing, process optimization, and leadership development. The Focused Factory Manager 2 plays a critical role in shaping manufacturing strategies, driving operational excellence, and mentoring future leaders within the organization.
Responsibilities
Safety, Compliance, & Risk Management
- Ensure a proactive safety culture, driving initiatives to exceed OSHA, MIOSHA, and company safety standards.
- Champion safety leadership training and mentor managers in developing strong safety accountability.
Advanced Quality & Continuous Improvement
- Oversee and refine quality control processes, implementing data-driven strategies to minimize defects and optimize production performance.
- Leverage Six Sigma, lean manufacturing, and automation to drive efficiency improvements across operations.
- Ensure strict compliance with quality management standards, guiding teams through audits and certification processes.
Strategic Leadership & Operational Excellence
- Provide strategic oversight of manufacturing operations, ensuring alignment with company objectives and growth strategies.
- Lead high-impact process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Actively participate in cross-functional strategic projects, such as new product launches and facility expansions.
Financial & Budgetary Oversight
- Oversee multiple manufacturing cost centers, ensuring financial performance aligns with business objectives.
- Develop strategic investment plans for capital expenditures, process upgrades, and technology enhancements.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to identify long-term cost reduction opportunities and supply chain optimizations.
Leadership & Workforce Development
- Lead a large team of supervisors, engineers, and technical staff, developing future leaders within the organization.
- Drive a culture of accountability, problem-solving, and team-based innovation.
- Act as a mentor and coach, supporting leadership development and fostering employee engagement.
Union Relations & Organizational Leadership
- Serve as a key liaison between operations and Union leadership, navigating complex labor relations and negotiations.
- Lead high-level grievance resolution and employee relations strategies, ensuring positive engagement and workforce satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field preferred; MBA is a plus. Equivalent experience will be considered.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in manufacturing leadership, with a proven track record of driving operational improvements.
- Expertise in quality systems, Six Sigma, lean manufacturing, and advanced process optimization.
- Strong strategic leadership and business acumen, with the ability to drive enterprise-wide improvements.
- Proven ability to mentor and develop leaders, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- High proficiency in financial planning, budgeting, and cost reduction strategies.
- Extensive experience in union relations, negotiations, and labor management.
- Advanced problem-solving, data analysis, and process optimization skills.
