Job Title: Design Engineering Intern (Summer 2025)
Position Overview
As a Design Engineering Intern at Irwin you will play a supporting role to the development of new product, improvement of current product, and/or the development special product requests that are customer/project based. You will be exposed to many different aspects of product development process and the tools used therein.
Responsibilities
- Learn how to navigate Creo and Windchill
- Assist with the drawing changes for Engineering Change Requests (ECN’s).
- Working with various tools and equipment in engineering lab.
- Assist team members in daily activities and contribute to team discussions and meetings.
- Become familiar with mfg. processes and people here at Irwin.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Proficiency in Creo or similar CAD software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members.
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment and contribute positively to group dynamics.
- Willingness to learn and take on new challenges whether great or small
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or listen. The employee frequently is required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and loud machinery. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
