What are the responsibilities and job description for the Homebound Teacher (CC: 7057) (5 hrs per week) position at Isaac School District?
Homebound Teacher:

RESPONSIBILITIES
The homebound instructor will contact the contact person at the student’s school to assist in coordinating the student’s initial services meeting within one school day of contact from the school.
The homebound instructor is responsible for providing quality instruction, utilizing appropriate materials and techniques to keep students working at his/her assigned grade level. This will be done in unison with the classroom teacher. Completed assignments will be returned to the classroom teacher on a weekly basis.
The homebound instructor will work with the classroom teacher to submit grades for the student at the end of each quarter so the student’s transcripts/records will accurately reflect his/her grades and performance.
The homebound instructor will set and maintain class hours with the parent/guardian and will be consistent throughout homebound enrollment.
Homebound instructors will keep the student’s School Attendance Clerk aware of any missed instruction times.
The homebound instructor will notify the parent if he/she will not be able to report for a lesson.
The homebound instructor will request a parent/guardian signature on Documentation of Contact Hours after each session.
8. The homebound instructor must turn the Documentation of Contact Hours into the Prevention Coordinator on a monthly basis at the homebound meetings.
9. The homebound instructor is responsible for keeping a current, updated calendar.

11. The homebound instructor will be responsible for monitoring and updating the student’s medical progress. All changes in a student's medical documentation must be filed with the school nurse and placed in the District Office file through the Prevention Coordinator.
12. Weekly attendance is reported by the homebound teacher to the school by the teacher. Students are NOT considered absent from school while receiving homebound services unless a scheduled session is canceled by parents and reported to the School Attendance Clerk by the homebound instructor.
Preferred Qualifications:
Education: A bachelor's degree in education or a related field.High School Diploma with classroom school experience as well.
Certification: A teaching certificate / ADE Emergency Sub Teacher Certification
Skills: Knowledge of IEP and 504 processes, effective communication, and the ability to manage diverse instructional needs are important.
Experience: Prior classroom teaching experience is often preferred
