GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform a wide range of clerical duties in assisting other office staff assigned to a department or school.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES: (essential functions)- Greets students, staff and the general public; provides information or directs inquiries to the proper area or person.
- Performs secretarial duties such as typing, filing, copying, and distributing class materials, tests or reports; may assist with registering new students, assigning substitutes or lunch room duties.
- Assists with processing purchases orders. Maintains inventory of office and classroom supplies. Orders supplies and materials.
- Interprets or translates when necessary.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
Knowledge of office equipment and computer hardware and software applications.
Knowledge of mail and delivery processes and procedures.
Knowledge of customer service techniques.
Skill in operating office equipment and computer hardware and software applications.
Skill in interpreting and translating.
Skill in performing mathematical computations.
Skill in establishing and maintaining effective relationships with co-workers, parents and others.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma and one (1) year office experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience that provide the required knowledge and skills. Bilingual preferred. IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
