The Opportunity

We are looking for a Payroll Clerk to join our growing team. This role demands detail orientation experience for payroll accuracy and system function. Your tasks will include payroll preparation, auditing flow through of benefits systems for accuracy, running reports, and making changes in the HRIS system for full payroll cycle functionality. You will report to the Controller in the Finance Department.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Pays employees through payroll system (Paylocity) bi-weekly
• Verifies new hires, prorations, bonus/commissions and benefit deductions
• Maintains payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data into the payroll system, as well as retrieving data when necessary.
• Enter pay changes in system for approval / verification of management
• Run payroll reports
• Verify payroll tax set up on new hires
• Verify transfer of payroll deductions to retirement account for 401(k) plan and fund account.
• Resolves payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information and interacting with HR & Controller.
• Provides payroll information by answering questions and requests.
• Maintains payroll operations by following policies and procedures, and reporting needed changes.
• Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
• Complete set up of Localities / Registration and compliance
• Track State SIT/SUI completion with payroll system.

Education, Experience, & Licensing Requirements

• 2 years of payroll processing experience with payroll software is required
• Experience with Paylocity is a plus
• Associate’s degree in business administration / accounting preferred
• Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) and the Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) a plus
• Must be willing to work onsite daily in our Louisville office
