Position Overview
The Cash Handling Specialist will play a critical role in managing cash and valuables, ensuring accurate record-keeping, and maintaining a secure work environment. This individual will be responsible for counting, verifying, and reconciling cash and coin, as well as processing customer transactions and resolving discrepancies.
Key Responsibilities
- Count, verify, and reconcile cash and coin at the end of each shift or as required.
- Process customer transactions, including cashing checks, making change, and accepting deposits.
- Verify customer identities and ensure that all transactions are processed accurately and efficiently.
- Resolve any discrepancies or errors related to cash handling, communicating effectively with customers and coworkers.
- Participate in ongoing training and education to stay current on banking regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of cash handling activities, ensuring compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.
- Work collaboratively with the Branch Manager and other team members to achieve business objectives and maintain a positive work environment.
Requirements
- High School Diploma required.
- Previous cash handling experience preferred.
- Excellent math skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic knowledge of banking systems and software applications.
