About Our Summer Intern Program

Are you ready to kick-start your career? ISACA’s Intern Program offers rising Juniors and Seniors as well as Graduate students a hands-on experience and meaningful projects that drive impact. We're not your typical internship!

At ISACA, you’ll dive into real projects that matter while sharpening essential skills like communication, emotional intelligence, and time management through our tailored development program. Overview

Join a dynamic, mission-driven team working to improve organizational performance worldwide. As an intern with the CMMI Product Team, you’ll play a hands-on role in supporting the continuous evolution of the CMMI Performance Framework—a globally recognized model that helps organizations build and benchmark their capabilities.

This internship offers real-world experience in product development, research, and process improvement, with an emphasis on the early stages of product discovery, validation, and continuous iteration.

What You’ll Do

As an intern, you’ll collaborate with product management and cross-functional teams to support both day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives. Your work may include:

  • Supporting market and user research to inform product decisions.
  • Assisting with data clean-up, transformation, and analysis to identify insights from our global network of customers and partners.
  • Participating in product discovery and design activities such as journey mapping, prototyping, competitor analysis, writing Business Requirements Documents, contributing to Roadmaps, reviewing or writing tickets, and many other aspects of product management.
  • Helping organize and synthesize feedback from appraisers, consultants, and internal stakeholders.
  • Supporting documentation, content improvement, and workflow enhancements tied to the CMMI model and supporting tools or our internal platform.
  • Assisting with cross-team collaboration (e.g., with IT, Marketing, Content, Sales, or Customer Support teams).
  • Handling ad hoc requests and contributing to special projects as needed.

Qualifications

Education

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree, preferably in Product Management, Business Development, Information Systems, Data Science, Industrial Engineering, Public Policy or Organizational Development, or related area of study.

  • Analytical mindset and comfort with data (Excel proficiency required)
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Professionalism and ability to work independently
  • Curiosity and a desire to understand how systems and organizations work
  • Team-oriented and emotionally intelligent
  • Demonstrated interest in improving processes, systems, or services
  • Location: We strongly prefer candidates who can commute to Schaumburg, IL for orientation as well as 3-4 in-person meetings throughout the summer. We will consider select remote locations within the U.S., but preference will be given to local candidates.
