Position Summary
Lead the Company’s Tax Department in all aspects of global tax compliance, tax policies, tax accounting, and tax reporting. Implement global tax strategies that will optimize accurate tax reporting and minimize the Company’s exposure to risk, including transfer pricing, withholding, direct and indirect taxes. Responsible for the management of internal tax staff and external tax consultants. Make recommendations to senior management.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned)
- Direct and oversee the work of Tax professionals, including training, mentoring and ensuring professional development.
- Responsible for timely and accurate Federal, State, Local, and foreign tax compliance and reporting obligations in all markets. Ensure that the Company is appropriately registered and collecting/remitting taxes in all pertinent markets.
- Develop and implement strategies and processes that will minimize the risk of additional tax liabilities, avoiding interest and penalties.
- Manage all aspects of transactional taxes: sales, use, property, VAT, gross receipts, and GST, etc. taxes.
- Develop, implement, and manage all tax related software applications. Ensure that applications function efficiently, and accurately. Ensure that legislative updates are applied accurately, and timely.
- Analyze tax requirements within proposed new markets. Define the Company’s business requirements for opening a new market, as it relates to tax reporting obligations. Define related Company policies and procedures as they relate to both the Company and potential Associates.
- Develop and implement process improvements to ensure the efficiency of the Company’s tax structure.
- Manage key relationships with government agents, tax vendors, CPAs, and law firms.
- Interact heavily with Company Departments to ensure efficient processes are in place, and tax compliance is adequately supported.
- Identify, analyze, and communicate complex tax issues, and their impact to senior management.
- Work with Executive Leadership and Company Departments to build corporate strategy and budgeting
- Manage tax audits and support financial audits as needed.
- Research and analyze the impact of regulation and tax law changes.
- Other tasks as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (These are the requirements that all applicants MUST HAVE to be considered for this position)
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Accounting or related field.
- 10 years of experience in tax and finance.
- 8 years of management experience leading tax professionals.
- Proven expertise with international and domestic tax reporting and year-end informational reporting requirements at an international level.
- Strong interpersonal skills, detail oriented and able to manage tasks simultaneously.
- Skilled in the use of Microsoft office software to include Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and advanced Excel experience.
- High degree of independent thinking skills, strong analytical and quantitative skills, and team playing abilities.
- Demonstrate strong understanding of accounting principles, and direct/indirect tax reporting obligations.
- Expertise with Federal, State, Local, and foreign tax compliance obligations, sales tax, use tax, property, gross receipts tax, GST, VAT, CIT, and IIT.
- Proven ability to build strong business relationships internally, and externally.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Public Accountant or equivalent qualification
- 12 years of experience in tax and finance.
- Professional experience in network marketing industry.
