Position Summary
The Social Media Intern will support the marketing team in developing and executing social media strategies to enhance brand awareness, engagement, and audience growth. This role is designed for a student currently enrolled in a university or community college who is looking to gain hands-on experience in social media management, content creation, and digital marketing. The intern will work closely with the social media and marketing teams to create, schedule, and analyze content across various platforms. This is a part-time, flexible position that will accommodate the student's academic schedule, with an expected commitment of 15-20 hours per week.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned)
- Assist in creating and scheduling content for social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, and X.
- Monitor social media trends, audience engagement, and competitor activity to provide insights and recommendations.
- Engage with followers by responding to comments, messages, and mentions in a timely and brand-appropriate manner.
- Support the development of visual and written content, including graphics, short-form videos, and blog posts.
- Help track key performance metrics and compile social media analytics reports.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to align social media efforts with broader campaigns and brand initiatives.
- Assist in influencer outreach and partnership coordination.
- Stay up to date with emerging social media trends, tools, and best practices.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (These are the requirements that all applicants MUST HAVE to be considered for this position)
- Currently enrolled as a student at an accredited university or community college.
- Strong understanding of social media platforms and their respective best practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Creativity and an eye for engaging content.
- Basic video editing skills.
- Ability to multitask, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with content creation tools like Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar platforms
Preferred Qualifications
- Pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field.
- Previous experience in social media management, content creation, or digital marketing.
- Familiarity with social media analytics tools.
- Passion for health and wellness industries.
- The office environment requires the use of standard office equipment and personal computers.
- Use of Microsoft Office365 applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
