Position Summary
The Sr. Agile Delivery Partner is accountable for the effective delivery of complex products and services. This role is accountable for the performance of the team and the delivery of a project/program. The Sr. Agile Delivery Partner will be responsible for; building and supporting teams, Identifying obstacles and help the team to overcome them to ensure they meet delivery goals, focusing the team on what is most important to the delivery of value, encouraging and facilitating continuous improvement of the delivery team, and coaching the team to apply the most appropriate Agile tools and techniques.
Work Schedule: This position currently follows a hybrid work model. Employees are required to work from the office at least four days per week (Monday - Thursday), with Friday available for remote work, offering a blend of in-person collaboration and flexibility.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned)
Agile Practices
- Demonstrate intermediate experience in applying Agile tools and principles in practice, including but not limited to: meeting facilitation, estimation and prioritization methods, metrics, etc.
- Visualize and make the team’s work visible through status decks and KPI dashboards.
- Recognize when something does not work and encourage a mindset of experimentation to support innovative solutions to process inefficiencies.
- Recognize, measure, and evaluate outcomes to form an understanding of normalized behavior and opportunities for improvement.
Management
- Function as a point of contact for the team, coordinating with the team and stakeholders
- Understand proper contact points, knowing how/when to engage external resources.
- Take ownership of status reporting to appropriate stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment on the delivery goals.
Non-Technical/Technical Communications
- Communicate effectively with technical/non-technical team members, subject-matter-experts, and stakeholders.
- Support and facilitate discussions within team.
- Advocate for your team externally; representing their interests and highlighting their achievements and success.
- Recognize and respond to stakeholder expectations in a timely manner to support awareness and transparency.
Financials
- Understand the monetary impact of the work completed by the team, considering resource utilization and budget allocation.
- Consider the functional requirements in relation to level of effort to determine the ROI.
SDLC
- Understand the needs of the team across the stages of the SDLC to ensure a successful transition from development to testing to deployment while still adhering to quality standards.
- Recognize when to move from one stage of the SDLC to another.
Maintain Delivery Momentum
- Set team cadence/tempo for sustainability, consistency, and predictability.
- Understand risk, issues, dependencies, impediments impact to the team.
- Actively track, address, and communicate internal risks, issues, and dependencies.
Process Improvement
- Guide teams to focus on output rather than process, emphasizing value delivery and improved time-to-market over processes that impede the team’s ability to do so.
- Manage feedback from the team on processes that are not working.
- Help teams find a process that works for them.
- Guide teams through the implementation of a new process.
Planning
- Manage planning and forecasting of work based on priority and delivery timeline.
- Show awareness of diverse ways to develop/adapt the plan.
- Escalate uncertainty around important or high value tasks to leadership.
Team Dynamics & Collaboration
- Explain the importance of team dynamics, collaboration and empowering the team.
- Encourage open communication, trust, and mutual respect.
- Understand the importance of receiving and utilizing feedback to support team synergy and provide a ‘one team’ mentality towards accountability.
- Effectively bring people together to form a motivated team.
- Help to create the right environment for a team that empowers them to deliver.
Minimum Qualifications (These are the requirements that all applicants MUST HAVE to be considered for this position)
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or equivalent experience.
- 2 years of experience serving as a Scrum Master and/or IT Project Manager role for Agile development teams AND 1 years of experience serving in a Delivery role (Delivery Lead, Delivery Manager, Delivery Partner) for Agile development teams OR 2 years of experience serving in a Delivery role (Delivery Lead, Delivery Manager, Delivery Partner) for Agile development teams.
- 2 years of experience with Agile Management and/or Project Management Tools (TFS, Azure DevOps, Jira, RTC, Rally, Asana, Monday, Project Plan, MS Project).
- Intermediate knowledge of Agile principles and an understanding of the SDLC that can be effectively applied in real-world situations.
- Intermediate skills in leading through influence, meeting facilitation, stakeholder communication, delivery management, conflict resolution and process analysis and improvement.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in related field.
- Delivery Management Certification (ICP-APM, ICP-DAS, etc), first level Scrum Master Certification (PSM I, CSM, etc) and/or Project Management Certification (CAPM, PMP, etc).
- Prior experience working with Agile-based SDLC projects in multiple roles (Scrum Master, IT Project/Program Manager, Developer, Tester, etc).
- Continued and recent Agile education, including training, conferences, user groups, self-study, etc.
- Continued and recent delivery management education, including training, conferences, user groups, self-study, etc.
