The ISE Exchange Student Program is on the lookout for a dedicated Oregon candidate to join our team! This is a unique opportunity to work with our esteemed non-profit organization and play a crucial role in recruiting volunteer host families for international high school students due to arrive in August for the school year.
As a candidate, you will be instrumental in qualifying and matching volunteer host families with our August arriving international high school exchange students. Your efforts will ensure that students from around the world feel welcomed, supported, and integrated into their new American communities
About Our In-coming Students
- 14-18 years old from one of 40 different countries
- Speak English
- Attend nearest public school to host family
- Have own spending money and medical insurance
- Are ready to become a participating member of an American host family, pitching in on everything from household chores to family discussions!
Duties
- Coordinate all aspects of student exchange programs in your local area, including host family recruitment, orientation, and placement of students.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for students, host families, and high schools throughout the exchange process.
- Monitor student progress and well-being during their stay to ensure a positive experience.
- Collaborate with schools and community organizations to promote cultural awareness and understanding.
- Handle administrative tasks related to program management, including documentation and reporting.
Skills
- Experience working with students in an educational or supportive parental capacity is helpful
- Ability to educate students on cultural differences and provide guidance throughout their exchange experience.
- Background in international travel is beneficial for understanding the diverse needs of students.
- Proficient in recruiting strategies to attract potential participants for exchange programs.
