ISG is delighted to welcome a dynamic and enthusiastic Support Specialist to our Des Moines office. As a Support Specialist, you will become an integral part of ISG as an Employee Owner, collaborating closely with your fellow employee owners to achieve excellence. 


ISG's Support Specialists are the heart of their home offices. Yours is a refreshed historic building conveniently located in Downtown Des Moines near the Market District, State Capitol, and East Village. By your desk, a custom mural by Chuck Hipsher enriches the lobby, while exposed ductwork, steel, and masonry honor the building’s industrial roots. A color-coded mechanical room, open floorplan, large clerestory windows, robust kitchen with coffee appliances fueled by locally sourced beans, and impressive materials library are all part of this award-winning office design. The building's meeting rooms are used not only as workspaces for ISG's multi-disciplinary team, but as hubs for community partnerships.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Support the office environment by greeting visitors and keeping general supplies well-stocked and organized
  • Collaborate with a diverse team to ensure administrative tasks are handled confidentially and efficiently
  • Play a key role in organizing and facilitating meetings and events, including coordinating food and refreshments, developing agendas, and preparing conference spaces
  • Craft professional cover letters, pay requests, change orders, and other important documents for clients and contractors
  • Review and refine engineering reports for grammar and formatting, and assist in implementing markups
  • Help with overseeing and maintaining fleet vehicles
  • Take charge of printing and binding specification books, plan sheets, reports, proposals, and other deliverables
  • Contribute to local Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable tasks
  • Provide excellent customer service by assisting with ISG’s central phone service
  • Embrace a variety of other exciting duties as assigned or instructed

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience within architecture, engineering, construction, or government permitting is preferred, not required
  • Fantastic phone etiquette and customer service skills
  • Organized and eager to be a part of and support a team
  • Willingness to take direction and follow through with the completion of an assigned task
  • Refined proofreading, grammar and spelling skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to be adaptable
