Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Tier 3 Support
- Act as the highest-level technical escalation point for engineering-related client and internal issues.
- Lead technical troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and proactive problem resolution.
- Ensure clear, client-friendly communication of technical solutions to enhance customer trust and satisfaction.
Infrastructure & MSP/MSSP Tool Stack Management
- Architect, implement, and optimize MSP/MSSP tools (RMM, PSA, SIEM, EDR, DNS security, Backup, Email Security).
- Maintain high availability (99.99% uptime), performance, and redundancy of IT systems.
- Develop automation and monitoring strategies to enhance operational efficiency and reduce manual workloads.
Collaboration with Program Management
- Work closely with Program Management to provide technical insights, feasibility assessments, and resource requirements for projects.
- Support client onboarding and offboarding processes by ensuring smooth technical execution of system integrations, migrations, and decommissions.
- Assist in the technical execution of compliance readiness assessments and hardening initiatives, ensuring security measures align with project goals.
Collaboration with Cybersecurity & Compliance
- Align engineering security configurations with NIST 800-171, CMMC, and FedRAMP standards, under the guidance of the VP of Cybersecurity.
- Ensure technical compliance for audits, supporting the VP of Compliance in audit preparation and control validation.
- Support the security tool stack implementation while Cybersecurity defines policies and risk strategies.
Client Education & Communication
- Partner with the Director of Client Success to educate clients on infrastructure improvements, security hardening, and IT best practices.
- Provide technical insights during project meetings and business reviews to ensure client expectations are met.
- Enhance customer satisfaction by ensuring clear, structured technical communication.
Mentorship & Continuous Improvement
- Develop documentation, playbooks, and SOPs to enhance knowledge-sharing and reduce escalations.
- Mentor and coach junior engineers, improving technical proficiency across support tiers.
- Continuously refine engineering processes to drive scalability, efficiency, and cost reduction.
Qualifications
- Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent
- experience).
- 6 years of experience in IT engineering, with a focus on MSP/MSSP environments.
- Expert knowledge of cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud) and hybrid infrastructure.
- Strong expertise in networking (firewalls, VPNs, SD-WAN, SASE), Windows/Linux environments, virtualization, and automation (PowerShell, Python, Ansible).
- Hands-on experience with security tools such as EDR, SIEM, IDS/IPS, and MFA solutions.
- In-depth understanding of NIST 800-171, CMMC, FedRAMP, and DoD security frameworks.
- Advanced certifications preferred: CISSP, CCNP, Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, CISM, or equivalent.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills, analytical mindset, and ability to lead high-impact technical projects.
