ISI Professional Services is looking for an experienced Project Engineer – Systems Control / Integration with expertise in the construction industry to provide Owner's Representative construction management services to a DoD client. The Construction Engineer – Systems Control / Integration will support a DoD client managing the construction of a new Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) Currency Production Facility (CPF) to provide a modern, secure, and innovative facility for the manufacturing of United States currency. The facility will occupy a 104-acre site in Beltsville, Maryland, and the construction project includes a primary building with a footprint of approximately one million square feet, consisting of a manufacturing hall, laboratory / research spaces, a warehouse, vaults, a firing range, and visitor screening outbuildings.
The Project Engineer – Systems Control / Integration must be able to answer process-design related questions and ensure systems integration meets design intent for Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs), Automated Mobile Robots (AMRs), automatic storage systems, and BEP’s Manufacturing Execution System (MES), Warehouse Management System (WMS), and Building Automation Systems (BAS), including HVAC, plumbing, and process systems supporting production.
Essential Job Functions :
- System Integration : Ensure that all automated systems—AGVs, AMRs, automated storage, MES, WMS, and BAS—meet design intent, integration goals, and operate seamlessly within the facility’s broader infrastructure.
- RFIs & Submittals : Respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) and review technical submittals for systems integration, ensuring compliance with contract specifications and design objectives.
- Change Management : Assist in reviewing and providing technical input on construction change orders impacting systems integration. Work with the project team to assess the implications of changes on system functionality and timelines.
- Meetings & Documentation : Facilitate and lead integration meetings with stakeholders, including USACE, general contractors, BEP staff, and external vendors. Document meeting minutes and track action items to ensure timely resolution of integration issues.
- Schedule & Coordination : Collaborate with the construction team to coordinate the scheduling of equipment installation and integration activities, ensuring alignment with the construction project timeline.
- System Testing : Oversee testing and validation of integrated systems to ensure functionality and adherence to specifications.
- Problem Solving : Provide on-site technical support and troubleshooting to resolve design, process, and operational issues related to system integration.
- Reporting : Provide weekly and monthly reports to the project team and stakeholders, summarizing system performance, integration progress, and any outstanding issues.
Preferred : USACE project experience is preferred and USACE Baltimore District project experience is highly preferred.
