Job Title: Upper School Makerspace, Engineering, and Computer Science Instructor
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced educator to lead our Upper School Makerspace, Engineering, and Computer Science program. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in science, mathematics, or computer science, with a passion for teaching and mentoring students.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing engaging lesson plans, fostering a growth mindset among students, and providing individualized support to ensure student success. They will also serve as the director of the Makerspace, coach the robotics team, and participate in extracurricular activities.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in science, math, computer science, or a related field
- Expertise in programming, problem-solving, algorithm development, digital logic, and related topics
- Proficiency in 3D modeling, electronics, and makerspace equipment
- Substantial teaching experience at the upper school level
- Cultural competency and commitment to equity and inclusion
Responsibilities:
- Teach five sections of Computer Science, Coding, and Engineering
- Serve as Robotics team coach and program director
- Serve as Makerspace director
- Develop and implement daily lesson plans
- Foster a growth mindset among students
- Provide individualized support to students
- Communicate with parents and advisors
- Write report card comments
- Serve as advisor to students
