Job Summary:
The Warehouse Operator is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the chemical warehouse, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and managing warehouse staff. This role requires a strong understanding of chemical handling and storage protocols, as well as excellent leadership and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities:
· Supervise Warehouse Operations: Oversee the daily activities of the chemical warehouse, including receiving, storing, and shipping chemicals and related materials.
· Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels, track usage, and conduct regular audits to ensure accurate records of chemical stock. Coordinate with COO to manage replenishment of supplies.
· Quality Control: Inspect incoming and outgoing shipments to ensure quality standards are met and that all materials are properly labeled and stored.
· Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all warehouse activities, including shipping and receiving logs, inventory counts, safety inspections, and incident reports.
· Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and safety within the warehouse.
· Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including procurement, production, and shipping, to ensure seamless operations and timely delivery of materials.
· Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations regarding the storage and handling of hazardous materials. Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to minimize workplace hazards.
· Emergency Preparedness: Develop and implement emergency response plans and conduct regular safety drills to prepare staff for potential chemical spills or other incidents.
Qualifications:
· Experience: Minimum of 4 years of experience in warehouse operations, preferably in a chemical or hazardous materials environment. Previous supervisory experience is a plus.
· Knowledge: Strong understanding of chemical safety regulations and best practices for handling hazardous materials.
· Skills: Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
· Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., forklift, OSHA, HAZMAT) are highly desirable.
· Technology: Proficiency in warehouse management software and Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with inventory management systems is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to lift and move heavy containers (up to 50 LBs) and stand for extended periods.
· Willingness to work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures.
