Development Director

The Islamic Center of Greater Cincinnati (ICGC) in West Chester, Ohio is more than a place of worship. Since our opening November 9, 1995, we have come to be known to promote community harmony through spiritual services, education, social and community services, youth services, internal and external outreach. Our goals include working with socioeconomically struggling but resilient communities for a meaningful and purposeful change, strengthening relationships, enhancing educational offerings, and youth character and leadership development services and programs. Greater Cincinnati Muslims of all ethnicities and backgrounds gather here to pray, socialize, and learn. The larger community turns to us as a trusted source of accurate information on Islam and Muslims. Our doors are open to our friends and neighbors and many have returned several times.

ICGC is dedicated to making a positive impact on our community by providing essential services and support to those in need. We rely heavily on fundraising to sustain our programs and services, and we are seeking a Development Director to lead our fundraising efforts.

General :

The Development Director is responsible for planning and implementing a comprehensive fundraising program that includes major gifts, corporate and foundation giving, planned giving, and special events. The successful candidate will work closely with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to develop fundraising goals and strategies and will manage a team of fundraising volunteers. ICGC is looking for :

Responsibilities :

  • Build and maintain an active portfolio of approximately 125 major gift ($5K ) prospects.
  • Maintain an active schedule of personal visits / meetings with prospects. (2-3 meetings per week)
  • Increase our revenue by 10 to 15% in the first year.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising plan to meet the organization’s annual revenue goals.
  • Develop and implement plans for achieving projected dollar goals for assigned projects each year.
  • Identify and cultivate major gift prospects, as well as corporate and foundation donors.
  • Plan and execute special events that engage donors and raise funds for the organization.
  • Collaborate with the Communications team to develop and execute effective donor communications and marketing materials.
  • Work closely with the Board of Directors and Executive Director to develop fundraising strategies and goals.
  • Monitor and analyze fundraising data to evaluate performance and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Lead the grant writing process, including researching funding opportunities and crafting compelling proposals.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications team to create engaging campaigns and materials that effectively communicate the organization's impact and achievements.
  • Manage the donor database, ensuring accurate record-keeping and timely acknowledgments of gifts.

Qualifications & Expectations :

  • Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, with a proven track record of success in major gifts, corporate and foundation giving, and special events.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write compelling donor communications and marketing materials.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with experience managing a team of fundraising volunteers.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, Board members, and volunteers.
  • Experience with fundraising software and donor databases.
