Position Summary
The Operations Manager will support the day-to-day operations of the Islamic Center, ensuring the facility, events, and services run smoothly, safely, and efficiently. The ideal candidate will be organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple responsibilities, while embodying the Islamic values of service, professionalism, and hospitality.
Key Responsibilities
1. Event & Program Support
- Oversee and lead the setup, breakdown, and logistics of daily and special events including registration.
- Coordinate with AV staff, volunteers, and vendors.
- Ensure supplies and resources are available and prepared.
- Print and distribute marketing material for programs and services.
2. Staff & Volunteer Coordination
- Manage daily schedules and assignments for facility support staff.
- Address performance concerns and ensure operational SOPs are followed.
3. Inventory & Procurement
- Maintain inventory of operational supplies (cleaning materials, event equipment, etc.).
- Track usage and restock in a timely manner.
4. Safety & Compliance
- Support and engage in emergency preparedness protocols and drills.
- Conduct walk-throughs to ensure the facility complies with city codes, fire safety, and other safety and maintenance requirements.
- Address incidents immediately and report to the Operations Director.
5. Facility Oversight
- Supervise and coordinate janitorial teams to ensure cleanliness, functionality, and safety of all center spaces (prayer halls, classrooms, sports fields cafeteria, etc.).
- Schedule and conduct routine inspections, repairs, and vendor maintenance (AC, plumbing, etc.).
6. Admin
- Assist in preparing reports, forms, and documents needed for operations.
- Respond to general inquiries via phone, email, or walk-in.
- Support scheduling and calendar management for center activities and services.
- Flexibility to take on other responsibilities, tasks, or support roles as needed in alignment with the mission and needs of the center.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in operations, facilities management, or nonprofit administration.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work evenings/weekends for events.
- Professional, respectful communication style.
- Familiarity with Islamic center environments or masjid etiquette preferred.
- Basic tech and AV setup knowledge is a plus.
Working Conditions
- On-site presence required.
- Flexible hours based on the needs of the center.
- May involve lifting items up to 50 lbs and walking long distances during events.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
