Position Summary
The position is responsible for managing and analyzing the financial aspects of Islamic Relief USA’s programs, ensuring that budgets are accurate, aligned with organizational goals, and in compliance with funding requirements. This role involves developing, monitoring, and analyzing program budgets, forecasting future costs, preparing financial reports, and providing strategic recommendations to ensure the financial health of the programs. This position reports to the COO.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Develop, monitor, and manage program budgets in alignment with organizational goals and funding requirements.
- Analyze program expenditures, track budget variances, and recommend corrective actions to ensure financial stability for IRUSA projects.
- Prepare and update financial forecasts to predict future program costs and funding needs.
- Produce regular financial reports for internal stakeholders, highlighting budget performance and variances for IRUSA International and domestic projects.
- Ensure program compliance with donor agreements, grant guidelines, and organizational policies.
- Support grant management by tracking restricted and unrestricted funds and ensuring proper allocation.
- Coordinate with IRUSA finance on budget planning and budget tracking for Domestic Projects and IRUSA implemented international projects.
- Collaborate with program managers and other departments to optimize financial resources and support decision-making.
- Provide financial training and guidance to program staff to ensure effective budget management and financial understanding.
- Utilize financial software to track, update, and report on program budgets, expenses, and financial performance.
- Assist Program leadership with managing institutional funding from government agencies and foundations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and work.
- At least three years relevant work experience in the social service field, preferably in refugee resettlement in a non-profit setting. organization.
- Strong logistical skills with demonstrated success in managing complex projects and meeting deadlines
- Ability to manage multiple priorities that are somewhat complex in nature.
- Prior successful experience in a deadline-oriented role with a sense of urgency.
- Must possess effective interpersonal oral and written communications skills that include some exposure to grant writing.
- Must exhibit cultural competence and sensitivity to working with diverse ethnicities and faiths; commitment to inclusive practices related to gender, age, and disability.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and achieve objectives.
