Facility & Recreation Attendant - Full Time

This is a general position in the Parks & Recreation Department. Responsibilities include collection of park fees, general non-maintenance care of park facilities, supervision of patrons using park facilities and enforcement of rules and regulations. Provides customer service to Park patrons and visitors. Assists in recreation programming and implementation.

• Greets patrons, provides information, and directs patrons to appropriate program areas and facilities.
• Answers telephones and performs simple clerical duties.
• Provides excellent customer service regarding inquiries and promotion of IFP amenities and recreation programs.
• Assists public in completion of registration forms, memberships, and permits; Directs public to appropriate staff for reservations of facilities. 
• Checks for proper IDs and Membership Cards for access to IFP and the Ron Levy Aquatic Center. 
• Collection of fees including Park and Pool Admission and various program and event fees.
• Monitor park facilities and enforce/educate public on rules and regulations.
• General preparation of athletic fields for games, activities, and special events.
• Assists in planning, organizing, and set up/break down of department special events and programs.
• Completes security checks, locking and securing of the facility at time of closing and opens facilities for public use as needed. 
• Cleans buildings and restroom facilities.
• May assist in the collection of garbage, litter, and or trash from park grounds.
• Monitors general activities of IFP amenities/facilities throughout the day addressing solicitors, vandalism, or potential issues. 
• Addresses issues with regards to injuries, accidents, or complaints; reports incidents to supervisor.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Position requires evening, weekend, and holiday hours.

Must be at least sixteen years of age. Must be able to comprehend written/verbal instruction. Must be able to communicate with the general public. 

Physical Requirements:

Tasks involve the ability to exert moderate, though not constant physical effort, typically involving reaching with hands and arms, standing, walking, use of hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls; or some combination of stooping, kneeling, crouching, and some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (12-50 pounds). May require the ability to perform and /or demonstrate various physical skills involved in recreational programming. Office tasks require a small amount of physical effort in sedentary to light work involving moving from one area of the office to another; some positions require sufficient hand/eye coordination to perform semi-skilled repetitive movements, such as data entry, filing and/or the use of office equipment or supplies. 

Some tasks require visual and auditory perception; as well as oral communications ability. 

Work Environment:

Some tasks may require exposure to adverse weather conditions, temperature extremes, wetness/humidity, dust/pollen/smoke, harsh chemicals/cleaning agents, equipment hazards, communicable disease, strong odors.

Salary : $18 - $20
