We are seeking a motivated, energetic, customer service focused individual to join our team as the Assistant Studio Manager. This full-time position reports to the owner and oversees the daily operations of the studio. The Assistant Studio Manager ensures an engaging, creative experience for artists while managing administrative tasks, maintaining studio facilities, and coordinating with clients and instructors. This position ensures the highest quality and safest experience for every studio guest and visitor.
Key Responsibilities:
Studio Management
Manage studio space, equipment, inventory, scheduling, maintenance, cleanup, and cleanliness of the studio
Maintain an organized studio environment and adhere to safety protocols.
Drive sales by participating in targeted product promotions and initiatives set forth by the company
Train and supervise studio assistants and instructors
Identify new opportunities for partnerships with local businesses, adult groups and school/children groups.
Drive new traffic to the studio through traditional, online and guerrilla marketing techniques
Customer Service and Art Instruction
Manage studio bookings and client communication, including class registration and inquiries
Lead fun and engaging art classes for individuals and groups
Assist artists with technical needs while providing guidance on materials and techniques
Collaborate with the studio owners to develop class schedules and curriculum
Assist customers with their gallery shopping experience
Upsell additional classes, experiences, and products/services
Convert walk-in shoppers to class experience participants
Administrative Tasks
Process payments, handle invoices, and maintain financial records
Help develop and implement studio policies and procedures
Coordinate marketing and promotional activities for classes and events
Coordinate exhibition planning, including artwork installation and display
Handle ordering and inventory management
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. College graduates preferred.
Flexibility in schedule - availability and willingness to work evenings and weekends
Friendly, positive, and outgoing personality with exceptional interpersonal skills and strong organizational skills
Responsible self-starter and problem solver
Understanding of sales techniques and best practices in customer service
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
Ability to stand for extended periods, squat, kneel, ascend/descend ladders and stepstools, and lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to teach and work with children and people of all abilities and skill levels
Proficiency with computers and point-of-sale systems
Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines
Previous experience managing, supervising or leading coworkers/staff
Preferred Qualifications:
College degree in business, marketing, communications, or related field highly preferred
Previous experience managing an art studio, gallery or other experiential based business
Proficiency with organic social media marketing
Experience in teaching art classes or workshops
Existing relationships to community networks, professional networks/organizations or other connections to the community

Compensation: $40k annual base salary plus commission/spiffs
