Employee in this position performs a varied range of repetitious labor maintenance functions during the annual maintenance cycle, to facilitate the repair, maintenance and construction of County roadways.

- Repetitive labor functions during annual maintenance cycle.
- Safe and efficient use of a variety of hand tools.
- Safe and efficient operation of light trucks, mowers and other equipment used on road projects.
- Work as flagger when necessary.
- Minor repair and servicing of assigned equipment.
- Perform other tasks as directed.
- Ability to comprehend and carry out oral and written instructions.
- Ability to work independently in the performance of regular duties of the position.
- Knowledge and skill in the minor repair, service and operation of assigned equipment.
- Ability to make decisions pertaining to safety.
- Ability to effectively communicate with fellow workers, supervision and the general public.
- Ability to remain constantly alert, both mentally and physically and remain calm in road emergency situations.
- Ability to obtain licenses and certificates as required.
- Ability to work outside in adverse weather conditions.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- High school diploma, or equivalent.
- Valid Washington State Drivers' License
- Flaggers Certificate, or ability to obtain.
