Dispatcher/Transportation Supervisor

ISLAND HARVEST has the following exciting position available in our Melville, New York office:

TRANSPORTATION & LOGISTICS SUPERVISOR (FLEET DISPATCHER)

This position supervises and oversees all aspects of Island Harvest’s transportation program which includes a fleet of vehicles, and the daily dispatching of drivers and vehicles. This position will manage our team of drivers and reports directly to our Chief Operations and Logistics Officer. This person will possess strong decision-making and problem-solving skills and always look for fleet efficiencies and techniques to improve customer service to all partners.

The ideal candidate will have the following:

• 4 years of relevant work experience managing a fleet of drivers and vehicles.
• Experience using logistics software for dispatching and analysis is required.
• Knowledge of transportation and logistics practices.
• Strong map reading skills and basic geographic knowledge of Nassau and Suffolk Counties.
• CDL license A or B preferred.
• Safe food handling certification a plus.
• Forklift and pallet jack operation experience preferred.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $67,000.00 per year
