Overview
Laborers perform intensive physical construction labor duties as a part of a construction crew. Duties also include but are not limited to digging trenches or ditches, backfill and compact and level earth.

About Island Mechanical
Island Mechanical Corporation is a general contractor in Hawaii specializing in pipeline construction, fabrication and directional drilling for major utility companies, refineries, and the federal government.
Responsibilities
- Must uphold all company Safety Requirements and wear appropriate PPE as needed on the jobsite.
- Dig trenches up to 5 feet, backfill excavations, jackhammer asphalt/rock and compact and level earth to grade specifications using shovels, tampers, and rakes
- Move pipe and associated tools and materials.
- Clean up rubble and debris; perform other restoration such as blacktop and landscape.
- Perform technical construction and repair on major utility pipelines.
- Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials.
- Prior pipeline construction and/or pipeline laborer experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of general hand tools and power tools preferred.
- Other related duties and projects as assigned
Qualifications
- Ability to travel as required to jobsite
- Ability to maintain valid driver’s license
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Must be able to work overtime and weekends if needed
- Must be able to pass any operator qualifications assessments as required by jobsite
- Ability to work extended hours when necessary for business needs
- Experience working in construction is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Ability and willingness to travel as needed

- Walking 100% of the day on uneven ground
- Squatting 50% of the day
- Kneeling 50% of the day
- Standing 100% of the day
- Working with small hand tools for 30% of the day
- Working in outside environment 100% of the day
- May work more than 8 hours a day
- Will lift more than 75 lbs. 30% of the day
- Will lift at least 50 lbs. 50% of the day
Pay- $ 17 - $ 25 /Hourly *Depending on Experience levels
