What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sushi Chef position at ISLAND SUSHI AND GRILL?
Island Sushi And Grill in Las Vegas, NV is looking for one Part Time Sushi Chef to join our strong team. We are located on 9400 S Eastern Ave #103. Our ideal candidate is self-driven, punctual, experienced, and reliable. You must provide proper documentation to work in the US. We are looking for a Full Time candidate as well as a Part Time. WEEKENDS ARE MANDATORY.
Responsibilities
- Setting up sushi bar for the day & preparing all ingredients (fish, vegetables, sauces, etc.)
- Preparing Nigiri, Sashimi, Hand Rolls, Cut Rolls, and appetizers.
- Guest services including conversing, providing knowledge on the restaurant, taking food orders, and keeping track of orders.
- Keeping work space clean, organized, and abiding to food safety requirements at all times
- Breaking down sushi bar at end of day and prepping for the following day opening shift
- Other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
- At least 3-5 years of sushi chef experience required. (Experience in Fast-Casual Pace Preferred)
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation required. (ServSafe Certification preferred)
- Knowledge of food allergies and food borne illnesses
- Must have own set of knives and equipment
- Be able to stand for long periods of time. Be able to bend, kneel, twist, and lift up to 50lbs.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently
- Expected to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays. (Open schedule preferred)
Sushi Chef Salary ranges from $14-18 an hour - Depending on Experience.
Tips are House % for the Position. Average rate is between $8-$12 an hour once at 100%.
