Responsibilities
- Greet and assist patients as they arrive at the facility, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere.
- Manage appointment scheduling, confirmations, and cancellations using electronic health record systems.
- Perform insurance verification and ensure proper documentation is collected from patients.
- Review patient documentation for accuracy and completeness prior to appointments.
- Maintain organized front desk operations, including filing, data entry, and handling correspondence.
- Communicate effectively with medical staff regarding patient needs and inquiries.
- Utilize medical terminology and dental terminology when interacting with patients and staff.
- Handle phone calls professionally, addressing patient questions or directing them to appropriate personnel.
- Assist with administrative tasks as needed to support the overall efficiency of the office.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar administrative role within a healthcare setting is preferred.
- Proficiency in medical terminology; knowledge of dental terminology is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and data entry tasks.
- Familiarity with insurance verification processes is highly desirable.
- Ability to type accurately using 10 key typing skills for efficient data entry.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is an advantage for effective communication with diverse patient populations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on providing outstanding customer service.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while managing individual responsibilities effectively.
