What are the responsibilities and job description for the Children's Program Assistant position at Isle of Faith UMC?
The role of the Children's Program Assistant is to prepare the weekly lesson for our Sprouts (Infant - Pre-K) and our IOF Kids (K-5th Grade). On Sundays, you will teach our K-5th grade class from 9am - 12pm. Your ministry responsibilities include praying for each child, exhibiting Christ-like patience and love, and relating the events of the day to the lesson and theme in words the child can understand.
Job pays up to 8/hrs/week (3 hrs Sunday) (1 hour staff meeting/week) (4 hours lesson preparation to be done on your schedule)
Pay is $16/hr Seasonal hours available
· Execute weekly lesson
· Work with volunteers that are assigned to help you in a positive and professional way
· Interact with parents
· Oversee check-in process
· Oversee check-out process
· Clean and straighten room after children leave
· Report concerns/ideas to children’s minister
· Attend weekly staff meetings via video/phone conferencing
Qualifications and Education Requirements
1. Previous experience working with children.
2. Passion for children to know Jesus.
3. Reliability
4. A personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
5. Must pass a background check & go through Child Protection Policy yearly
6. Organized & Self Starter
Preferred Skills
1. Knowledge of Child Protection Policy
2. CPR Certified
