We are looking for merchandisers to work in a retail garden center. This position starts immediately and has the potential to continue on until December. Part-time hours are available now, with hours increasing to 30 over the next two months.

Client’s Scope of Work
Merchandiser is responsible for caring for plants in our client’s garden center. The season begins now and continues through mid-summer. The work week is flexible, including weekends.
You will work independently and alongside store employees. Good communication skills are essential.
Merchandising responsibilities include, caring for the product (plants), ensuring quality, creating displays, and following planograms for product placement. Ensuring that merchandising standards are followed, including signage for pricing. Other responsibilities include communicating with customers, keeping a clean and organized working area.
Other responsibilities include communicating with customers, keeping a clean and organized working area. There may be occasions where unloading freight from packaging, racking, and/or pallets is also needed to present the customer with the best products through visual merchandising.
Qualifications & Essential Activities:
- Multiple store visits weekly to assist store personnel with caring and merchandising of live plants and ensure product merchandising is completed for the stores you are contracted for. This includes watering, pruning and general care.
- Assist stores with understanding and following their garden center layouts, best watering and merchandising practices, as well as assist with inventory
- Maintain a professional, cordial and customer-friendly attitude
- Ability to multi-task, and good time management skills necessary. Ability to work both independently and with others
- Communicate product flow, over-stock/under-stock opportunities back to the Program Manager
- Fill, consolidate and organize products on retail displays or carts
- Assists in execution of corporate directives and programs including price adjustments and mark-downs
- Computer proficient in Microsoft Office applications, and excellent daily communication skills
- Documentation of daily activities, photos, and reporting of findings in the merchandising apps
- Maintaining a clean store appearance
Physical Demands and Work Environment
The physical demands and work environment described here are those that must be met in order to successfully perform the essential functions
- Able to travel between stores in some areas, if necessary
- Must be able to have reliable transportation to assigned store locations
- Must be able to push/pull heavy vendor carts and lift and arrange product on carts and displays
- Must be able to lift, move, and carry pots and/or trays of flowers/plants/hanging baskets weighing up to 40 lbs. consistently throughout the day
- Must be able to work in all weather conditions (rain, snow, hot, cold)
- Must be able to walk and stand for a majority of your shift and be able to submit reports, invoices, and upload photos
Pay: Starts $17.00 an hour
